The Federal Funding Outlet is an online resource portal catering to local and community leaders to obtain information, resources and tools on federal grants and funding programs with the goal of promoting an equitable and just recovery.
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) directly provides $130 billion in federal funding to local governments as leaders recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. This unprecedented level of aid will help communities across the U.S. shape their recovery from the pandemic’s economic impacts. Local leaders should view the arrival of ARP funds as a critical opportunity to make investments that encourage recovery and accelerate progress towards long-term goals.
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) will allocate $973 billion, including $550 billion in new investments across transportation modes, water, power and energy, environmental remediation, public lands, broadband and resilience. The BIL not only authorizes numerous programs but also provides multi-year funding in advance to a number of federal departments and agencies.
SEAP created this resource as an easy way to find Federal discretionary grants. Discretionary grants are different from formula or block grants – they are competitive, require an application, and are reviewed based on the quality of the application. This step-by-step guide is an easy way to quickly see the grants for which you’re eligible.
SEAP remains committed to creating equitable changes for the South. This is accomplished through our continued partnerships with organizations on the ground in our 12 Southern states. To ensure that Southern communities achieve the economic security they deserve, we offer research, data, and toolkits that are both strategic and bold. Read through some of our partner testimonies below relating to federal funding.
We could not have done the work without [SEAP]... The [ARP] toolkit was instrumental in getting the [Jones County] community and the minority supervisor to push for change.
