SEAP is accepting applications to join the third Policy Entrepreneurs Program (PEP) cohort! We’ve answered the most frequently asked questions about the program and application process to help you decide if this professional development opportunity could be the right fit for you.
Q: Who is PEP for?
A: PEP could be the right professional development opportunity for you if you are:
- an early career nonprofit professional or emerging community leader/organizer
- working within SEAP’s 12 state footprint
- Willing to invest time in attending monthly virtual sessions and participate in a group project
- Able to attend an in-person convening in Atlanta in September
- Ready to level up your policymaking skills
Q: What’s the program like?
A: It includes monthly virtual sessions on topics like policy agenda setting, effective mobilization and advocacy techniques, the critical role of data in policy formation, compliance with regulatory standards, and the principles of trauma-informed leadership. If you’re selected to join the cohort, you’ll learn alongside the cohort of about 25 PEPstars as well as work in a small group on a pinnacle project. The cohort culminates with an in-person convening in Atlanta.

- A regional network of other policy professionals
- Increased confidence in your ability to lead policy work in your community
- Hands-on experience on building issue campaigns
