FEDERAL DATA ARCHIVE

Preserving public data for the common good

In a time of massive changes to federal government policy, access to quality datasets is more important than ever for community-based organizations. SEAP is working to preserve this information and expand access for all by creating a federal data repository.

There are other, larger data repositories holding large amounts of raw data and those datasets will work well for researchers or data scientists. We created this repository to include dashboards and other tools that compile data into usable products for end users looking for quality data to guide their decision making.

For best functionality and ease of use, we recommend using the data repository on a desktop device. To access the repository on a mobile device, view it directly on Tableau Public here.

NOTE: Access to some resources is limited to our online community, The SEAP Table. It’s quick, easy, and free to join and becoming a member puts you in touch with other people in the data community.

Support for this data project was provided by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). RWJF takes bold leaps to transform health in our lifetime and pave the way, together, to a future where health is no longer a privilege, but a right. The views expressed here do not necessarily reflect the views of the Foundation.

Resources in this repository come from a variety of public and private data sources.  SEAP does not maintain the resources we have added to this repository, however we have seen organizations develop databases with a combination of federal, local, and organization completed data. These all come together to make up a robust set of resources that enable users like yourself to be successful.

We currently do not have plans to remove this resource. However, data managed by other organizations is not guaranteed to remain available on their websites. We recommend downloading datasets and dashboards if you have the ability.

Currently this repository is being refreshed at least once per week. However, this cadence may increase with an influx of resources. However, SEAP does not maintain the resources we have added to this repository.

If you have questions related to the specific refresh rate of the data inside of each resource please contact the organization listed.

If you have questions related to how to use the data and dashboards included here, please reach out to info@theseap.org we’d be happy to work with you to use public data to advance your mission statement!

Larger resources may slow down your user experience on our site. We’ve hosted them externally in order to ensure a seamless experience on theseap.org. Joining the SEAP Table is fast and easy and gives you the opportunity to connect with other data users and stakeholders!

Please do! This resource only improves in its applications by being shared with the community.
